MARIA MCSHARRY
Molecular Biologist
I am Maria McSharry, a PhD candidate in the Molecular Cell Biology program at the University of California, Berkeley. Mechanisms that answer how biology works drive my scientific interests. As a member of the Lareau Lab, I study mRNA translation in budding yeast.
One of my professional goals is to strengthen my reasoning skills. I hope to bring others with me in that endeavor through mentorship and science communication.

My research is supported by the Northern California Chapter of the ARCS Foundation. Catch a glimpse of ARCS' impact here.
